Is the reimbursement of my health costs guaranteed?

Yes, the modifications of the Staff Regulations for 2014 do not concern our sickness insurance scheme.

We will therefore continue to be reimbursed at a rate of between 80 and 85 %, or even 100 % in case of serious illness or accident.

Complementary cover also remains as it is now.

As regards contributions, the SR provide for a certain flexibility (not necessary at the moment) because the contribution of staff (1/3 of financing), which is now 1.7 % of salary, can be increased to a maximum of 2 % (4 % for the employer)

Health Insurance Management Committee (CGAM):

this management committee – in which Union Syndicale is represented – watches over the long-term health of our insurance scheme.

There has been a peak in expenditure in recent years, but the scheme is now back to normal, with a satisfactory balance sheet and a reserve fund equivalent to about 10 months of expenditure, which shows that the scheme is well managed.

Members of the US: you have some additional advantages:

- Automatic right to assistance and advice, in the context of the Luxembourg health care system, from the "Patiente Vertriedung"  (www.patientevertriedung.lu)

- Preferential rates and other advantages from DKV (for cover up to 100 % for a lower premium (8 % lower))

What about medical costs in Luxembourg?

Union Syndicale continues to work for equal treatment of European officials (and other agents) and Luxembourg citizens as regards medical consultations – overcharging by 15 % must end, in accordance with EU legislation and case law, but equal treatment should also apply to stays in hospital and health care in general.

Surtarification médicale et hospitalière au Luxembourg

Monsieur le Vice-Président,

Lors d'un contact récent avec le Ministère des Affaires Etrangères du Luxembourg, il nous a été rapporté que le dossier est bloqué au niveau de la Commission à Bruxelles.

Vous connaissez les difficultés de tous ordres par lesquelles passe le Site du Luxembourg : disparité de pouvoir d'achat, fuite du personnel vers d'autres lieux d'affectation, difficultés grandissantes à recruter, et à cela s'ajoutent

les discriminations en matière de soins de santé.

La situation sur ce dernier point a été sanctionnée par la Cour européenne et malgré cela : la solution pourtant identifiée il y a près de 2 ans, tarde à venir !!!

Puis-je vous demander de vérifier ce qu'il en est,  et de veiller à un retour à la normale dans les meilleurs délais possibles.
